This blog is for beekeepers in Northern climates. I will be describing what I am doing with my bees on a monthly schedule.

This blog explains how I keep bees. It works for me, it might not work for you. Use my methods at your own risk.
Always wear protective clothing and use a smoker when working bees.
Mite Treatments should be applied to the hive before Sept 1st
If your top deep box is not full of honey at this time, supers should be removed and feeding 2:1 heavy syrup should begin. This is the bees winter honey. It is easier to feed now than later when it starts cooling off.
I have kept bees for 26 years and run 50 colonies.
